Aberystwyth Town Council wants to see more murals in the town to brighten up the community.

Members heard at a meeting last Monday that funding is being sought from another group to paint more murals on the side of buildings in Aberystwyth following in from the unveiling of two earlier this month.

Mayor Alun Williams said he was a “big fan” of the current murals and “would like to see more around the town as it gives a good impression of Aberystwyth as an artistic and joyous place.”

Cllr Charlie Kingsbury said that he would support “anything that aims to beautify the town”.

“We are all in need of a splash of colour in our lives after a difficult couple of years,” he added.

The council agreed for the proposal for funding to be discussed at the next committee meeting.
