Ala Road

MORNING worship at the English Presbyterian church, Ala Road, this coming Sunday, 15 May, will be led by the minister, Rev W Bryn Williams. The service starts at 11.15am and a warm welcome is extended to all.

Christian Aid

VARIOUS events have been arranged in the town for Christian Aid Week which starts on Monday, 16 May. Representatives of the town’s churches will make door-to-door collections during the week and street collections on Wednesday, 18 May.Also on Wednesday there will be a market stall selling home made products etc on Y Maes square.On Friday, 20 May, a coffee morning will be held at Penlan Chapel Vestry. Doors open at 10.30am and there will be stalls, sales tables, tombola, raffles etc.Come along to enjoy a chat over a cuppa and biscuit. The week culminates on Sunday evening, 22 May, with a united service in Penlan Chapel.The service starts at 5pm and the address will be given by Huw Thomas, Cardiff, head of Christian Aid Wales.A warm welcome is extended to all.

Forest walk

THE Pwllheli-based Eternal Forest Trust charity is holding a Bird Song Walk and Paned yn y Goedwig event at Boduan Sanctuary Wood (on the B4354), today (Thursday) between 4.30pm and dusk.Accompanied walks through the woods will be led by Rob Booth of the North Wales Wildlife Trust, who will give instructions and help about how to identify birds and their song.There will also be an opportunity for informal chats about woodland burials and other related topics over tea, cakes and scones.The event is free of charge and all are welcome to attend.

Hwyl yr Wyl

Pictured are Jane Picken, Jo Scott and Wendy Hildyard, volunteers with Hwyl yr Wyl, Pwllheli, have begun to attend and sell at a car boot in Penrhos to raise money for the festival. The women would like to thank all those who have donated goods for the car boot, but would also like to make a plea for more goods and volunteers so they can continue to raise money for the festival.
