Madam,

I am writing in the hope that your readers can help me. I am of Welsh stock, and was born in Tywyn at the end of World War Two. I still have family in Tywyn and where they have been able they have been of some help. What I am looking for is any information readers may have about the Roberts family.

My great-grandfather was William Owen Roberts. He was a monumental mason and slate enameller, head mason at Towyn Mill (Aberdovey Road?). Theirs was a large and extended family. They had lived at Isandula Terrace, Idris Villa, Bodlondeb High Street, Tywyn.

Nain married a Thomas John Edwards and I was born at Hendre, 2 Church Street.

Two of my siblings and I attended Tywyn primary school, under headmaster Mr Evans.

I would like to know a lot more of the history of Tywyn and have attained some information from books. I would love to hear from any of your readers who know anything of relevance.

People can write to me at the address below.

Yours etc,

Y Gibbinson, 23 Northville Drive, Watcliff-on-Sea, Essex SS0 0QA.
