A “LOVEABLE” team leader in Aberdyfi has been named as the UK’s happiest employee.

Rob Smith, leads teams of young people at Outward Bound’s centre in Aberdyfi.

He is described as an “inspiration to all he meets whose positivity knows no limits” and the young people he mentors love him and his legendary puns and witty observations.

The Outward Bound Trust themselves won the happiest workplace award at the Laughology Happiness Awards 2016 held last month.

Al Crisp, head of centre at Aberdyfi Outward Bound said: “There were over 120 nominations for the Happiest Business/Organisation and hundreds for the Happiest Employee, and we won in both categories!”

“The award for the happiest employee was about recognising someone who makes the work place a better place to be, and who brings a really positive attitude to everything, so I can’t think of a better winner than Rob Smith! So very well deserved!”

Rob Smith was surprised but thrilled to have won the award.

“It means a huge amount to win,” he said.

“The Outward Bound is such a great place to work, and the job I do is about inspiring young people and giving them opportunities to do things they have never done before."
