A CAMBRIAN News employee will put her best foot forward to take on a half-marathon in memory of a colleague who died of cancer.

Rose Fowler from Aberystwyth will take part in the IAAF Cardiff Half Marathon on Saturday, 26 March to raise cash for Cancer Research UK.

Rose, who has been training since the New Year for the run, decided to take on the challenge following the sad death of Cambrian News sub-editor Adam Barrah.

Adam, a popular and talented journalist and musician, passed away in January following a brave battle with cancer aged just 36.

He was described by friends, family and colleagues as “popular”, “dedicated” and “talented” and someone who faced his short battle with cancer with “bravery, wit and care for others.”

Rose said: “I felt compelled to run the IAAF Cardiff Half marathon after feeling very shocked and upset by Adam’s sudden death to cancer.

“The only way to express my feelings and sentiment for Adam was by putting on my running shoes and raising some money in his memory."To sponsor Rose for her half-marathon challenge click hereSee this week’s south editions for the full story, in shops now or online by clicking the Digital Editions tab at the top of the page
