CHRISTMAS festivities in Pwllheli raised nearly £5,000 for local good causes, which was handed out this week.

The Rotary Club of Pwllheli took a Santa Float around the Llyn Peninsula during November and December. Over 20 groups were involved in the Santa Float and in total they raised almost £5,000.

All money raised by the Santa Float is used to support local activities.

ASDA Foundation supported the event by making a contribution towards a buffet for the club members and groups to enjoy on the evening of the presentations at Plas Heli, Sailing Academy at Pwllheli.

The cheques were all presented by MP Liz Saville-Roberts and a total of £3,600 was handed out to Community Groups during the celebration buffet. The rest of the money will go towards youth projects run by the local Rotary Club.

Here are the groups that benefited from the Santa Float Cylch Meithrin Nefyn, Morfa Nefyn, Edern, Llanengan, Pentreuchaf, Yr Eifl (Trefor), Llanbedrog and Bryncroes, Pwllheli Food Bank, Edern Playing Fields, Pwllheli Juniors (U-14’s), Pwllheli Youth Club, Parents Association at Bro Plenydd School at Y Ffôr and the schools at Cymerau, Edern and Sarn Bach.
