A PUBLIC exhibition is being held for Pwllheli residents to discuss ways to ease traffic at the town’s “most dangerous place” for pedestrians.
Last August a petition was launched to urge Gwynedd Council to turn busy Gaol Street into a one-way system.
Councillors have been urging the local authority to take urgent action after complaints were received that the pavements were too narrow, which is dangerous for pedestrians as cars mount them to try to pass each other.
A public exhibition is now being held at Neuadd Dwyfor from 1pm to 7pm on Wednesday, 2 March, which will give the public an opportunity to look at different proposals to improve the quality of traffic flow in the town.
Cllr Jonathan Roberts said: “Over the years there have been a number of accidents involving cars and pedestrians on this street, and it won’t be long before someone is killed or seriously injured unless we do something about it very soon.
“I would like to encourage as many people as possible to come and see these plans and have their say on what they think is the most viable plan for Pwllheli.”
