A 12-HOUR Santa Spinathon will take place in Newcastle Emlyn on Friday, 25 November when local fitness trainer Wayne Hoyland and friends will pedal hard to raise money for Cylch Meithrin Drefach.

But this won’t be the only event on Friday and Saturday, as members of the Newcastle Emlyn Traders Group join together in a two-day winter celebration and your help is needed!

Members of the Newcastle Emlyn Traders Group have been hard at it thinking of ideas to entice people to visit and shop in the town. They are keen to create a festive atmosphere as a warm-up to the annual Victorian Night held on Wednesday, December 7 and have decided to ask any buskers out there to entertain the crowds in the Buskers Booth/Cornel Canu.

Chair of the Newcastle Emlyn Traders Group, Jill Sutton said: “We are a committed group and we want to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere to our town. The town is made up of small independent shops and it’s not easy. There’s a lot of evidence that many shops like ours are finding it difficult and uncertain, so we are always looking at ways of increasing income footfall for the town from a trader’s perspective.”
