SAFETY fears have again been raised over Llanbadarn Fawr’s Primrose Hill after a second incident in a week saw a car shunted onto a pavement.

Local councillor Paul James has said he is stepping up his campaign for traffic-calming measures to be introduced on the hill after the second incident in a week - following a crash on Sunday, 24 July - and after a youngster suffered a dislocated ankle after being knocked down by a car in April.

The latest incident saw a car being driven down the hill hit a parked car, shunting it onto the pavement and causing damage.

Cllr James said: “There was an elderly driver coming down the hill and he hit a parked car which shunted it onto the pavement.

“As the local member I’m looking to put in a Freedom of Information request to the police about their speed data and the incidents on that road, as Ceredigion County Council won’t be able to do anything without the reports from the police.

“I know what people will say, that they shouldn’t be parking on the hill, but after negotiations with the council, the residents are allowed to park there at certain times because of the problems with parking for people using the local businesses."
