It seems as if £46 million is going to be spent on a new Dyfi bridge, largely to prevent a piece of parapet wall being hit from time to time. Wouldn’t any other busy historic market town with a narrow trunk road through the middle welcome a proper bypass?

I attended the consultation exhibition and heard the arguments, but to spend that much money while still routing heavy traffic through Machynlleth just feels like an expensive and short term partial solution to the flooding and traffic problems.
