A 31-year-old father-of-two from New Quay proudly crossed the finish line of this year’s London Marathon to raise money for The Children’s Society.
Steve Moores completed the gruelling 26.2-mile course in an impressive four hours, 46 minutes on Sunday to support the charity’s work with the most vulnerable children across the country suffering abuse, hardship and neglect.
With two young children of his own, Steve chose to take on this personal challenge for The Children’s Society because he wants to help youngsters less fortunate than his own.
So far, Steve has already raised an impressive £2,130 towards The Children’s Society’s work with vulnerable young people, and will continue to fundraise in the coming weeks.
Steve said: “The buzz of being part of the London Marathon was insane. I don’t consider myself a serious runner but crossing the finish line was a big achievement. Some parts of the race were tough, but knowing I was running for a great cause pulled me through the miles.”
