Perhaps all those schoolchildren who are protesting about our failure over climate change should take more direct action.

Turn off the central heating and put on more clothes. Indeed, stop buying fashionable clothes – which are soon thrown away.

Walk, bus or bike to school. Cancel all your holidays involving the car or aeroplane.

And don’t buy anything which is manufactured in China – they are producing 90 per cent of the recent increase in carbon emissions.
