Two local schoolgirls have travelled to Paris to perform at a Welsh festival.
Miriam Llwyd Davies. who is from Talybont and a pupil at Ysgol Penweddig, and 10-year-old Gwenno Einon Wigley, a pupil at Ysgol Glantwymyn, were chosen last year as Urdd Eisteddfod winners, and joined all the Disney characters on stage in the French capital last month in a concert at Disneyland Paris on St David’s Day.
The concert was held with Only Men Aloud along with Mickey, Minnie and the Disney Dancers.
The partnership between Disney and the Urdd has developed over the years and this year they celebrate 10 years.
The founder of the festival was the Welshman and vice president of Disney, Peter Welch.
Gwenno’s mother Meryl, who attended the concert along with Gwenno’s family, said the performance was a “dream come true” for her daughter.
“It’s not every night you get to share the stage with Mickey, Minnie and Only Men Aloud,” she said.
“It was a memorable and proud night flying the flag for Wales in Disneyland Paris.”
