Madam,

Your newspaper told a very sad story about a Jackdaw called Eric, killed by a BB gun.

These guns are too powerful and in the hands of kids lethal. If these guns can severely injure a bird’s wing, what I ask, could they do to someone’s eye? These guns should be governed down, they are much to powerful in anybody’s hand.

Our wildlife at the moment is struggling to survive in this terrible weather. And the idea that they are being used as target practice fills me with horror.

I am so pleased a vet from Tywyn has spoken out, calling for people to protect wildlife.

Let’s hope whoever shot this defenceless bird is listening.
