AN ‘ACE’ new pavilion will be officially unveiled this weekend.
On Sunday, 17 June, Dwyfor Meirionnydd MP Liz Saville Roberts MP will be cutting the ribbon at the new facility at one of Wales’ oldest tennis clubs.
Established in 1892 only a few years after Wimbledon was founded, Clwb Tenis Criccieth Tennis Club has survived through two world wars and many highs and lows.
All are welcome at the fun day which will form an integral part of Criccieth Festival.
Tennis coaching sessions and ‘pilates tennis’ will be available as well as a series of family-friendly activities from 2pm.
Chairman of Criccieth Tennis Club, Mike Bowen, believes the new pavilion will be an asset to the local area.
“The new clubhouse is essential for the growth of our club within our community,” he said.
“As well as being used by our members and visitors of all ages, it’s also used by the U3A and local music groups.”
