Madam,
As a pensioner and life-long user of NatWest bank, I strongly endorse the mayor of Lampeter and thank him for his effort to stop the closure of the bank in town.
I live eight miles from Lampeter and am able to get to the town by bus, but just where will the mobile unit be sited – probably in the car park sited some way from the bus stops through the centre of the town, and 45 minutes is not very long.
We pensioners don’t walk as quickly as we did, and my experience of the mobile facility tells me they shut shop promptly even if there is a queue waiting.
I am aware of online banking but few pensioners feel confident with, or are not able to use it, and the personal contact is both useful and welcome. My generation has not sponged on the country as does the present one and surely deserves some consideration.
I do use the Post Office mobile van when in the village but there are limits to which transactions are available.
Yours etc,
Name and address supplied.
