I was honoured to attend the inaugural cross party group on the air ambulance in the Senedd last week, with Rhun ap Iorwerth MS and Huw Irranca-Davies MS.

The group aims to ensure that we as elected members work together for a common purpose.

The air ambulance is a lifeline for us here in Gwynedd, and the charity has served our communities in Dwyfor Meirionnydd well in the 20 years since its founding.

Last December the Wales Air Ambulance introduced an overnight helicopter to their service.

They now provide a 24/7 service, ensuring that they are available to save lives any time of the day. I was amazed to learn that since being formed 20 years ago, the Wales Air Ambulance have attended over 38,000 call outs.

I’d like to take this opportunity to thank the air ambulance for their work.
