A BAKING company boss from Ceredigion has been forced to apologise for foul-mouthed rants at the traveller community on social media days before her first appearance on hit TV show The Apprentice.
Former Aberaeron Comprehensive School pupil Alana Spencer, 24, has come under fire for comments made on social media in 2010 and 2012 that referred to the traveller community as “chav pikeys” and “jobless pikey scum”.
She took to social media in 2012 to say “Control your children you fat pikey b****!” in a post after complaining about a noisy child on a journey.
Alana, who is from Llanrhystud but now lives in Aberystwyth, has apologised for the posts saying “they were the words of a naive young girl”.
In a statement issued through the BBC, Alana said: “I am truly sorry if my comments have offended anyone.
“They were the words of a naive young girl from a number of years ago and I would never write such things now.
“The thought that my words could offend anyone has really upset me.
“Again, I am truly sorry.”
The offending posts have since been deleted.
