The deadline to rent a cafe building for just £1 a year is looming.

Ffestiniog Town Council is looking for new tenants to run the cafe site in the park.

The town council owns the Pavilion Cafe and is looking for a new tenant to run it.

With the rent set at just £1 a year, and community Wi-Fi already installed, there’s a great opportunity for residents to start a small business from the building and create new life and excitement in the park.

To be considered, a business plan needs to be submitted to Ffestiniog Town Council by midday (12pm) tomorrow, 2 February. The town council will then choose the successful applicant.

Chair of Ffestiniog Town Council, Cllr Erwyn Jones said: “This is a good opportunity for a local person to get their teeth into a new enterprise. There are so many different options such as a day cafe, evening cafe/restaurant, run activities, kids’ parties, etc. The town council’s aim is to see this building being used and benefiting the community, and we’re keen to support the successful applicant as much as we can.”

Anyone interested in taking on the site can contact the town clerk for a chat and to arrange a visit to see the cafe. The town council is open to adapting the contract terms with the successful applicant.
