Madam,

You very kindly printed a petition and photograph regarding the closure of Potters Yard recycling facility in Machynlleth.

In spite of getting over 700 signatures and a lot of support from residents who are really worried about the overwhelming problem of disposal, our local councillor Mike Williams has informed me that the county council has made the decision not to provide a facility in Machynlleth.

Already I’ve been told about three large fridgefreezers which have been fly-tipped near to the Centre for Alternative Technology. There’s sure to be more.

We tried our best, letters went out to all local ministers. We can only hope.
