After losing more than three stone in weight in just five months at her local Slimming World Group, Charlotte Clarke, aged 36, from Lampeter was inspired to take up a brand new career as a Slimming World consultant.
Speaking about her weight loss journey, Charlotte said: “I was feeling very unhappy, uncomfortable and frumpy following the birth of my youngest child and I was struggling to get up and down off the floor with my new baby and was getting out of breath doing the simplest of tasks.
“I was really battling with the challenges of having a toddler and a new born baby but decided I had to take control again.
“When my youngest was just six weeks old, I made the decision to go to Slimming World, to lose the weight and keep it off.”
Charlotte added: “As I had been a member before I was scared at the thought of going back, worried about being judged and what people would say, however the support, friendliness and compassion I received in group inspired me shed the weight for good.
“I was able to fill up on fresh and filling family meals like cottage pie, homemade curry and rice and even steak and chips.
“I never felt like I was missing out, was never hungry and was able to cook the same meals for the whole family.
“Most of all, I still got to enjoy my favourite things like chocolate and cake, as well as eating out. Now aged 36 I feel like a different person and I have been at my dream weight for a year now.
“The weight loss has definitely changed my life.
“I feel happy when I look in the mirror, I enjoy going shopping for new clothes, and I have loads more energy.”
