TRACTOR owners have taken to the roads of Gwynedd to raise money for a dementia care at Tremadog hospital.

The tractor run was organised to raise money for a local branch of a dementia charity at Ysbyty Allt Wen.

The run started in Bala and included several makes of tractors osuch as Massey Fergusons, Nuffields, International, David Browns, Ford and Fordsons also some 4x4 vehicles.

The total number of entries was 40 which was not as many as have been on previous runs but other events were taking place locally on the same day.

The run was 28 miles long winding through the best of rural Wales from Bala to Llanfor then turning left towards Cunlas, back to the A494 at Cefn Ddwysarn before left again through Cwm Main.

A brief passing of the garage at Glan Yr Afon before the southern route return via Llandrillo and over the Berwyns, back to Bala finishing at Gorwellion where a cold drink and ice cream was very much appreciated The lunch stop at Tyfos included an auction of donated items.

The organisers would like to thank the Tyfos family for their generosity, Emyr Owen Auctioneer, D H Jones, Gorwelion, Massey Ferguson for a donation of hats, the stewards and all who took part on the day. The total raised was just over a thousand pounds and it looks like the total so far is close to £1,500.

Some events coming up are the display of 150 years of agriculture in the county show at Rhug, Corwen on Wednesday 22 August and two threshing days; one in Blaenau Ffestiniog and one in Egryn National Trust property near Barmouth whose dates are yet to be confirmed.
