TRIBUTES have been paid to a Llanuwchllyn farmer and father of four who died after falling through a roof.

On Tuesday, 22 November, Bryn Edwards, 70, was seriously injured when he fell through a roof at his family farm, Tyddyn ‘Ronnen.

Although emergency services rushed to the scene and quickly conveyed him to Royal Stoke Hospital, doctors were unable to save Mr Edwards.

Mr Edwards had been inspecting his roof following high winds and storms on Monday last week when the tragedy occurred.

Paying tribute this week, Rev Carwyn Siddall, minister of Gofalaeth Bro Llanuwchllyn a’r Cylch, said: “Bryn Edwards was a highly respected man here in Llanuwchllyn, Penllyn and further afield.

“Although he was a quiet man, he had the inner strength to stand up for his beliefs, and he took part in many campaigns and protests in support of the Welsh language and world peace.

"As we recall his contribution to the community and to the local culture, we can only be grateful that we had the privilege of knowing Bryn; he will be sorely missed.

Mr Edwards is survived by his wife Mair, four children, and grandchildren.
