Tributes have been paid to a Porthmadog nurse who died following a crash on Tuesday.

Gemma Adran, who worked at Meddyg Care in Porthmadog, was involved in a collision on the A4087 between Tesco and the Faenol roundabout in Bangor.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

North Wales Police are appealing for witnesses, and a fundraising page has been set up to see Gemma laid to rest in her native Philippines.

Bethan Jones, who set up the gofundme page, said: “Our loving colleague and friend Gemma Adran unexpectedly lost her life in a road traffic collision on 30 March 2021.

“Gemma was an exceptional nurse, college, friend and mentor whose life was taken far too soon.

“She was always so supportive and had a smile on her face, she was always willing to help and we feel this is the last thing we can do for her.

“Gemma’s family would like her to come home to them to be laid to rest.

“Any contribution will help make this happen and will be greatly appreciate.”

North Wales Police said they received reports just before 9.15pm on Tuesday, 30 March of a two-vehicle collision on the A4087 between Tesco and the Faenol roundabout involving a blue coloured Seat Leon, which was travelling towards Caernarfon, and a red coloured Honda Civic, which was travelling in the opposite direction.

Emergency services attended, however the front seat passenger from the Honda Civic was pronounced dead at the scene.

The male driver of the Honda Civic and the female driver of the Seat Leon were both taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, but were later transferred to hospital in Stoke. Both have sustained life threatening injuries.

Sergeant Liam Ho of the Roads Policing Unit is appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

He said: “We are appealing to anybody who may have been travelling along the A4087 and who may have dash cam to contact us.

“If you witnessed the collision, or if you saw either vehicle being driven just prior to the collision, please get in touch as soon as possible. Even the smallest piece of information could really help us piece together the circumstances surrounding this incident.

"Our thoughts remain with the woman’s family and friends at this difficult time."
