A CYCLIST has been airlifted to Ysbyty Gwynedd following an incident on the A493 between Dolgellau and Penmaenpool this morning.

The A493 was closed for around two hours by emergency services at the scene, but re-opened at 2pm

A spokesperson for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We were called at just after 11am this morning to reports of a cyclist having fallen off a bike in the Penmaenpool, Dolgellau area.

"We responded with a Rapid Response Vehicle, Emergency Ambulance and Air Ambulance.

"A male adult has been flown to Ysbyty Gwynedd with what are thought to be serious but non life-threatening injuries.”

The cyclist is believed to have sustained serious injuries.
