Catching up on Facebook today, I was delighted to come across a posting from Amanda Jenner the Conservative Senedd candidate. In her posting she told of the fantastic news that Simon Hart, minister for Wales, has announced that there is to be a Welsh Veterans Commissioner.

Having lived all over the UK and overseas following a busy Army career, beautiful and rural Ceredigion was the place we decided to make our home upon my Army retirement.

Ceredigion is a fabulous place to live and after four years here we wouldn’t want to put down roots anywhere else. In that time, I’ve come across one or two other military veterans, but not much by way of support for the ex Service community.

A Veterans Commissioner for Wales is a great idea and will bring many people who have served our country together, providing support, care and concern. I’m very glad to see that Amanda Jenner is backing this initiative and look forward to her support for Veterans in the future.
