This is an open letter to the residents of Ceredigion from the Independent (Councillors) Group of Ceredigion County Council.

VE Day is a day of celebration, to celebrate the end of the European war, when it is important to remember the sacrifices given by so many so that we all are able to enjoy freedom of speech today.

As members of the Plaid/Independent coalition group of Ceredigion County Council, we as the Independent members wish to disassociate ourselves from the post regarding VE Day shared by the leader of Ceredigion council, Cllr Ellen Ap Gwynn, on her social media page, reported in the Cambrian News last week.

The Independent group welcome the VE celebrations in all shapes and forms.
