Madam,
I refer to the Cambrian News 30 June ‘Tree poisoner defiant as neighbours vent fury’. I was appalled to read this story and am in total sympathy with the neighbours. What did the “Tree poisoner of Lluest” use to kill the tree? What effect will it have on areas of earth, once it has taken hold. What effect on wildlife?
To kill a tree just because she states it is not native, is absolutely pathetic. How far back does she want to go? I am quite sure the sycamore (which I believe was mentioned in Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales) is not the only tree planted here, that is not native.
A tree, whatever it may be, is a thing of beauty and I quote the last lines I have from a poem:“I am the Gift of God and the Friend of Man;“You who pass by listen to my prayer - Harm me not.”
Yours etc
