Members of the Merioneth Yacht Club and the Mawddach Paddlesport Festival have presented Ty Gobaith, Hope House Children’s Hospice, with a cheque for £3,250.
The amount was raised from the proceeds of the festival, which took place in July.
The event, now in its eighth year, is organised by Merioneth Yacht Club and takes in a range of paddling events over the weekend.
This year the cheque was presented by yacht club member Russell Cortney to Amanda Jones from Hope House.
She said: “We are so grateful for the generosity of the yacht club.
“With their support Hope House and Ty Gobaith can support local babies, children and families that are cared for by our two hospices.”
With centres near Oswestry and in north Wales, serving people from all over the county, the hospice was founded to help children with life-limiting illness and their families.
Amanda added: “Every year, Hope House Children’s Hospices must raise £6.3 million to meet the needs of local children and families.
“However, we are not reaching everyone who needs us; two out of three local families are currently dealing with the death of their child alone.
“Hope House Children’s Hospices can currently only afford to help one in three local families who suffer the death of a child. We are committed to changing this."
