TEN Llanidloes youngsters have raised an astonishing £2,500 after completing a gruelling swimathon challenge.
The girls, all aged between eight and 11, are members of Llani Dolphins and swam over 14 miles between them to raise money for Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie as part of the swimathon.
The event saw all 10 members swim almost a mile-and-a-half or 138 lengths of the Llanidloes pool.
Wendy Abel, the mother of one of the girls who took part, said: “Every one of the team members has been amazed at the support given.
"All aged eight to 11 this has been a big challenge for not very big people - Enya Jones, Olivia Dillon, Mia and Olivia Morgan, Lily Powell, Maisie Earp, Molly and Bonnie Edwards, Elin Evans and Maddie Hughes. They’ve been truly inspirational.”
