Meirion Jones, a plasterer from Bala, has completed a 24-hour challenge to raise £3,765 for research into bowel cancer.

This cause is close to his heart as his wife, Llinos, was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2019.

Thankfully, after surgery and chemotherapy, Llinos has come through the ordeal, to the relief of Meirion and their four children.

“I’m not one for cycling, running, or swimming,” said Meirion, who set a £500 goal, “so I thought I would plaster!”
