SIX men from the Newcastle Emlyn area have just returned from completing a 300-mile cycle for Bobath Cymru and have raised just over £10,000 for the charity.
The event saw them leave Crystal Palace in London last week and reach the finishing line at the Eiffel Tower in Paris four days later.
Cyclists Roy Lewis, Dylan Walters, Eiros Jones, Neal Jones, Gareth James and Lyn James braved windy conditions in 30 degree heat.
“It was one hell of an experience and the welcome from the French was just brilliant,” said Dylan, who along with wife Mandy is a Bobath Cymru Ambassador.
“We sang Welsh songs and hymns on the journey and people enjoyed hearing us and asked for more!
“On the first day we had lots of hills - cycling around here we are quite used to it - but 90 miles of it was hard.
“We started the first day at 7am and reached our hotel at 10pm. It was a very long day and by far the hardest,” added Dylan who has raised thousands of pounds for Bobath Cymru over the years as his six-year-old grand-daughter Ffion suffers from cerebral palsy and uses the facilities at the Bobath Centre in Cardiff.
