We first came to Borth from Lancashire in June 1970, my husband, myself and three children, renting a house backing onto the sea.
It was a very hot week and we had a great holiday. We came back again the same year with my two sisters and their families and have been coming to Borth every year since with our grandchildren.
My daughter and granddaughter came to work and live in Borth six years ago and now my granddaughter and her partner, who is Welsh and is the boy who lived next door to the holiday house we rent, have an 18-month-old son.
My sisters and their families still holiday in Borth and we were having our 50-year reunion this year, but of course it’s now on hold, though I’m still hoping to get down later this year as I usually have most of the summer with my daughter and granddaughter.
I never thought 50 years ago that I would still be coming to Borth and that I would have a Welsh grandson.
