A SHAKEN hotelier has hit out at the “vile” thieves who stole thousands of pounds from her Barmouth business.
On Saturday, 15 October, about £5,000 was stolen from an office in the Tal-Y-Don Hotel in broad daylight.
Joy Morgan, who co-owns the hotel with her sister, told the Cambrian News this week that she has been finding it hard to sleep following the theft.
“The thieves seemed to know exactly where to go, it’s very unsettling,” Joy said.
“In just two minutes they’d found their way in, up the stairs, into the private office and opened the filing cabinets where we kept all our takings and float money from Friday night.
“I just worry about what would have happened if we walked in on the thief. Was he violent? Did he have a weapon? I work with my family and I worry about their safety, but also my staff’s too. It’s been giving me lots of restless nights, anything might have happened.
“Police say the criminals aren’t local and that they have images of them on CCTV.
“It’s a relief but these horrible, vile people have made me suspicious of some of my closest friends and relatives, they’ve made me think that way - all of us are thinking like that, it’s horrible.”
North Wales Police confirmed that they are investigating the incident and are appealing for witnesses to contact them on 101.
