A GRATEFUL businessman has thanked CCTV super sleuths after their work led to the conviction of two thieves who had broken into his property earlier this year.
Anthony Jones and Llewellyn Luce, both from Pontypool, left four Meirionnydd businessess badly hit in April when they stole equipment, vehicles and tools worth tens of thousands of pounds.
The duo stole cars, bikes, power tools, a moped, cash and other items in the raids at Talsarnau, Llanbedr near Harlech, Bontddu and Porthmadog.
It was due to the diligence of voluntary CCTV group, Gwarchod Bermo Watch, which assists the police with their enquiries, that the Gwent criminals were brought to justice.
As a result, Jonathan Davies, owner of Clogau Motors in Bontddu, has donated £500 to the voluntary group and paid tribute to their efforts.
“I feel so grateful to Gwarchod Bermo for everything they did. Without their help I might never have known who had broken into my property and stole my equipment,” he said.
“It helped me move on. Before the arrests were made I was suspcious of everyone - the conviction really helped put my mind at ease."
