A Llandysul woman who crashed her car, carried on driving, and then crashed again while nearly twice the legal drink-drive limit has been banned from the road for two years.

Cathryn Constantine, of Fairview, Seion Hill, drove a Kia Soul dangerously on the A475 at Horeb on 19 September this year, Aberystwyth magistrates heard on 6 October.

The court heard she was involved in a collision and continued to drive with her car badly damaged before being involved in a second collision.

A breath test showed that the 42-year-old had 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.

Constantine, who pleaded guilty to both charges at the hearing, was disqualified from driving by magistrates for 24 months and made the subject of a 12-month community order to include 200 hours of unpaid work.

She must also pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £34.
