A housing association will take legal action against a tenant in a new block of flats in Aberystwyth after neighbours described living there as “hell”.
Residents said they are left “scared” in their homes due to violence, abuse and drug-taking at flats at The Tabernacle on Powell Street.
One resident, who did not want to be named, said he was “scared to leave my flat” in the block, due to “drug-taking, violence and abuse”.
“I have had my door kicked and bottles thrown at it,” he said. “At night I am scared to leave my flat and I don’t open my windows because of the smell of weed.”

“It was an absolute nightmare and I had to move out,” he said.
“I have been there since it first opened and the problems started within weeks.
“For months now we have had police visits every week, drug raids, violence, late-night parties. It has been hell.
“We have been calling for something to be done for months and months.”
Mid Wales Housing had a meeting with tenants on Tuesday morning and said legal proceedings will be started against the tenant most responsible for the behaviour.
