A group of people cut off by the tide have been rescued by Barmouth RNLI.

The lifeboat station launched at 4.22pm yesterday, Monday, after receiving reports that a number of people had been cut off by the tide on the sandbank opposite the boathouse.

The members of the public, under guidance from the volunteer crew, made their way back to the shore.

Coxswain Rob Williams said: “Safety advice was offered to approximately 30 members of the public.”

The Craig Steadman inflatable lifeboat returned to the boathouse and was readied for service at 5.25pm.
