ABERDYFI’S RNLI Lifeboat station is fully operational again after its recent rebuild.
The lifeboat has still been operational over this period however, with crew and officers working from temporary buildings and space on the adjacent dinghy park.
Crew training exercises and the occasional call-outs have all been carried out successfully during this period, but last week saw the first shout for the lifeboat since moving back in to the station.
The lifeboat crew were asked to assist, as a precautionary measure, in the search for a person who it was believed may have been missing, but all was well in the end when the person was subsequently found safe and well.
The principle reason for the alterations to the lifeboat station was to provide enough space to accommodate the modern Atlantic 85 class of inshore lifeboat, which is due to replace the existing Atlantic 75.
