AN ELDERLY driver had a narrow escape in Aberporth on Friday when her car ploughed through a stone wall at Ship Inn Corner and ended up hanging precariously over the car park 15 feet below.

The force of the crash, at around 4pm, sent large chunks of concrete tumbling onto a car parked below, but neither the shaken driver nor any passers-by were injured.

The incident came six months after a car driven by pensioner Peter Boothroyd careered through a fence above Dolwen Beach, plunging 12 metres onto the sand below.
