A major Aberystwyth town centre street was closed to traffic and pedestrians this morning while armed police dealt with an emergency.

Northgate Street, at the bottom of Penglais Hill, was closed in both directions for around 40 minutes from 9am while a crime team attended.

Police have not issued any information about the incident so far.
