A man has been arrested this morning in connection with a serious sexual assault, following a manhunt in the Lampeter area yesterday evening, police have confirmed.

Dyfed-Powys Police issued a warning to the public to remain vigilant on Thursday evening following an alleged assault in the Lampeter area.

Giving an update this lunchtime, DI Adam Cann from Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Following a large police presence and search in the Lampeter area last night, a 45-year-old male was this morning arrested in connection with a serious sexual assault.

“Specialist officers are supporting the victim at this time.

“Dedicated detectives are dealing with the suspect in custody.

“We would like to thank the public for their support and understanding as the search was conducted, with significant sightings and leads helping officers locate the suspect in a timely manner.”
