A Pwllheli man accused of attempting to grievously injure another man and possession of a machete will appear in Caernarfon Crown Court after being remanded in custody by a district judge.

Benjamin Evans, who lives on the town’s Bro Cynan estate, was arrested on Saturday, 23 March during an incident which saw armed police attend the estate.

Twenty-three-year-old Evans is charged with attempting to cause grievous bodily harm to Ronald Simmons and possession of an offensive weapon.

He appeared before District Judge Gwyn Jones on Monday, 25 March and was remanded into custody, with DJ Jones saying the case must be heard in crown court.

No pleas have been entered to the charges.
