A TYWYN man caught with more than 1,500 indecent images of adults and children - some of them as young as six months old - has pleaded guilty.

Geraint ap Dewi Rowlands, 56, pleaded guilty to all five charges put to him at Caernarfon Magistrates Court.

Rowlands, 56, of Cleveland Avenue, Tywyn, appeared before District Judge Gwyn Jones where he pleaded guilty to five charges relating to a total of 1,545 images and movies.

Sixty-three of the images were of the most serious type.

The charges were: Making 63 indecent images and movies of children under 18 category A; making 103 indecent images and movies of children under 18, category B; making 361 indecent images and movies of children under 18, category C. He also admitted possessing 43 prohibited images of a child and possessing 975 extreme pornographic images and videos described as grossly offensive.

The charges related to dates between May 2007 and July 2017.

Some of the images found on them were of children aged between six months and 14 years old, the court heard.

District Judge Gwyn Jones ordered a full pre-sentence report and for a risk assessment to be made. Rowlands was bailed on condition he co-operated with the probation service. He will be sentenced at Llandudno magistrates court on 11 December.
