A MAN has died after getting trapped under a tree.

Emergency services were called to woodland at Llanelltyd near Dolgellau on Saturday.

Police said the Health and Safety Executive has been informed about the death of the man, who has not been named.

A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: “On Saturday (9 October), we received a report that a man had become trapped under a tree on the A496, Dolgellau.

“Emergency Services attended but unfortunately the man was confirmed deceased at the scene. HSE have been made aware of the incident and police are now supporting the coroner with their investigations.”

South Snowdonia Search and Rescue Team also attended.

A spokesperson said: “SSSRT were called out to assist North Wales Police near Llanelltyd.

“Rope technicians were required in the recovery of a man after he was found sadly deceased in steep woodland.

“The team would like to send our deepest condolences to his family and friends.”
