A WIFE has spoken of her horror after an “unprovoked attack” on her husband and two friends outside McDonald’s in Aberystwyth on Saturday night.

In a social media post, Nicci Brown, from Caersws, said her husband Phil was left “unconscious on the floor” after being “attacked from behind” and “stamped and kicked like a football” by a “group of youths”.

Nicci said the incident was witnessed by children and families inside the restaurant.

Nicci said the trio were in Aberystwyth after enjoying a game of golf.

Phil, who runs a car dealership in Llandinam, was taken to hospital and had a precautionary CT scan on his brain, and had been left “bruised and sore”.

“Thank God [the CT scan showed] no lasting damage,” Nicci said.

“His two friends suffered awful injuries too.”

Two men were taken to hospital for treatment following an incident, police said.

Two Aberystwyth men have been arrested and were subsequently charged with assault and affray by police after the incident which occurred at around 9.30pm.

Nicci, who praised Aberystwyth police and the staff at McDonald’s for their response to the incident, said that CCTV coverage showed the “full attack where Phil is unconscious on the floor”.
