POLICE are appealing for information after a car was set on fire near Pwllheli.
Shortly after 2.40am on Saturday, 17 January, North Wales Fire & Rescue Service and North Wales Police officers attended the report of a car on fire on an unclassified road in Llithfaen.
The vehicle, a black Nissan Juke, was destroyed by the blaze, the circumstances of which are being treated as suspicious by local police.
Investigating Officer PC Dave Humphreys at Pwllheli Police Station said: “The owner had run out of fuel at about 7pm the previous evening and was forced to leave his car at the location.
“An initial examination of the scene by North Wales Fire & North Wales Police point towards a deliberate ignition and so a criminal investigation is underway.
“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time who saw any suspicious persons or activity, or indeed knows anything about this fire to contact police.”
North Wales Police would like to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed events to contact them on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quote RC16007805.
