POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a girl was bitten by a dog in Penparcau.

The girl, who was walking with another girl along a footpath, was treated for injuries after being bitten by the dog - which police believe to be a border collie named Rufus.

A couple who were walking their dog going in the opposite direction, passed the girls at around 9.30am on Saturday, 9 March.

The dog then bit one of the girls, officers said.

No description of the owners has been given and the extent of the injury is not known.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and any information that may help in identifying the dog and the couple.
