A MAN has reported being ‘hit across the head’ and having his phone and cash stolen in an early morning New Year’s Day attack outside an Aberystwyth pub.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident opposite the White Horse on Upper Portland Street in the early morning hours of 1 January.

A Dyfed-Powys Police spokesperson said: “A 21-year-old man has reported that he was hit across the head as he stood opposite the White Horse on Upper Portland Street sometime between 4am and 6am.

“The offender then reached into his pocket and stole his phone and cash, before running away.”

The victim did not sustain injuries in the incident.
