A POLICE helicopter was in the skies above Tregaron this morning looking for a suspect who is believed to have carried out an assault on a man in the town’s main square.

The male victim has been taken to hospital for treatment.

The suspect is described as white male, 6ft tall, with a slim build and wearing a blue wool hat, blue jacket, dark trousers and dark trainers with white stripes.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to contact local police.

The public are advised not to approach the man if seen but to contact police by phoning 101.
